Alexander County will be re-opening the North Carolina License Plate
Agency Office in Taylorsville. The scheduled date for opening is
Tuesday, August 24th. Office hours will be Monday thru Friday, from 9:00
AM till 5:00 PM, with the office remaining open during lunch. This
office will handle transactions relating to registered motor vehicles, a
few of which are renewal of annual license plates, transfers of motor
vehicle titles, and issuance of handicap tags. The new location will be
at 85 East Main Ave., Taylorsville.  To help provide you with the best
and most efficient service possible, please keep in mind the following
information: 

1) Fees for all services must be paid for with either cash, or check.  No credit or debit cards can be accepted. 

2) Property Taxes on vehicles for which tag renewal is being requested must be paid. 

3) A  N.C. Department of Motor Vehicle Safety Inspection must
have been done within the previous 6 months on any motor vehicle for
which a tag renewal is desired.

It was one very white Christmas here in Taylorsville, NC. I've not seen this much snow in forever and a day.

And on xmas of all days, i was stoked. Lovin it.

Recently made a few purchases from Gun Bunker USA in Taylorsville, NC and just wanted to make a few comments.

I've been in other shops in the area and they just don't seem that interested in what they are doing. The Gun Bunker on the other is super friendly and the prices are super low on pre-ordered items. I couldn't come close to the price they gave me anywhere online. The closest thing was $100 more than what he sold me this item for.

Super nice guy, ex army, can't say enough about him. Have you ever been offered coffee while browsing for guns or ammo? Not that coffee and guns have anything to do with each other it's just a very nice gesture.

If you happen to be in the area i suggest checking these guys out for great prices and friendly service. It might not be the biggest shop in town, but it is surely the friendliest.

Had fun at the Hiddenite Half Marathon & 10K this year.

Decent little turn out, near 100 people. Weather was a little warmer than last year, but it was worth it.

Anyone else go to this event?

Had a blast at Oktoberfest this year. Downtown Hickory is always a nice place this time of year.

Join the Alexander County Library in Taylorsville as we welcome author Michael Harrison to the library to debut his new book on Thursday evening, October 7. The event will last from 6 – 8 pm with Officer Harrison reading his book at 6:30 pm. Copies will be available for purchase and the author will be glad to sign them. Children may wish to wear pajamas to the event!
